Eastern Partnership Ministerial on Culture

The very first Ministerial on Culture in the framework of the fourth Platform of the Eastern Partnership was launched at Hotel Radisson Blue Iveria in Tbilisi on June 27-28. The conference was officially opened by the Minister of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia, Guram Odisharia and the EU Commissioner for Education, Culture, Multilingualism and Youth, Androulla Vassiliou.
The ministerial united several sessions, including culture as a vector of political reforms and social development; culture as a vector of economical growth and jobs; and instruments of the European Union and international cooperation.
The Fourth Platform of the Eastern Partnership Ministerial on Culture (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine), organized by the Ministry of Culture and Monument Protection of Georgia and European Commission, represents a very important stage of the process of outlining the importance of the culture in terms of the Eastern Partnership along with the improvement of the cooperation in that point of view. It is also a very important step for promoting the understanding of the role of culture in the sustainable development of Georgia and for close cooperation with the European Union.
